Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC aims for big fundraiser with Big Squeeze

Prince George businesses will once again compete to see who’s the best when it comes to lemonade.

On July 26th, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC (BIGSNBC) will be putting on their annual “Big Squeeze” across the city.

“It is the 11th annual contest where businesses around PG will be selling lemonade, and the winner, whoever sells the most lemonade, is crowned ‘the Big Squeeze’,” said Kazha Cullen, Public Relations Specialist for BIGSNBC.

“It’s been a community favourite for now 11 years so we’re super excited to get going with it again this year.”

The money raised during the contest will be going toward the proactive mentoring programs offered by BIGSNBC.

“We have our in-school mentoring programs where that’s one-on-one matches with volunteers and littles in their classroom environment at school, they get an hour a week and that runs through the school year,” Cullen explained.

“We also have group mentoring as well where different community volunteers will run a program for us that teaches kids about different skills. We have a rock climbing group, a golfing one, a painting group.”

As of today (Sunday), the participating businesses are:

  • 94.3 The Goat and Country 97fm
