Family of fallen wildfire firefighter asks for donations to Revelstoke Community Foundation

The family of Devyn Gale is encouraging people to donate to the Revelstoke Community Foundation.

Gale passed away in at the Queen Victoria Hospital on Thursday after sustaining injuries while fighting a wildfire near Revelstoke.

Many communities across the Province, including Prince George, lowered their flags at half-mast, honouring her.

“She personified the iconic Reds and Blues of wildland firefighting in British Columbia,” said the BC Wildfire Service in a Twitter thread posted this afternoon.

“She was bravery, grit, hard work, determination, leadership and selflessness.”

In the thread, the BC Wildfire Service says the family is encouraging donations to the Revelstoke Community Foundation, to allow her vibrant legacy to live forever in the Revelstoke Community.
