St. John Hospital’s Emergency Department to see service interruption due to doctor shortage

Emergency Department Services at the St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof will be interrupted tonight.

The interruption will last from 8:00 p.m. tonight (Thursday) until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow. (Friday)

According to Northern Health, this is due to an unavoidable gap in physician coverage.

In an emergency, people in the Vanderhoof area who need life-threatening emergency care should call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

For non-urgent care needs, patients can also call the Northern Health Virtual Clinic (1-844-645-7811) to access a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
