PG Kennel Club bringing back its dog show after lengthy hiatus

For the first time since 2019, the Prince George Kennel Club is hosting its dog show at the Agriplex right by CN Centre.

It runs from today until Sunday and will feature six conformation events.

Member, Karin Beeler told MyPGNow.com it’s a pretty packed weekend.

“We also have two obedience trials and junior handling events for young handlers to handle dogs and that will be during the lunch hour on Saturday and Sunday.”

Prior to the pandemic, the show became a mainstay in Prince George, enjoying a 30-year run. Beeler stated the show is often well-attended generating people from all across Western Canada and sometimes south of the border.

“We do have people that come from all over the place with their RV’s and parking on the ground. It’ll be a great time if you are looking for a purebred dog.”

Beeler admits if any members of the public do attend, seating at the facility will be limited.

“If the general public is interested in coming to the show, we ask them to bring a chair because while we do have some seating in the horse arena, we do not have any seating in the obedience area.”

The free event runs during the day (from 9 AM to 4:30 PM) today (Friday), Saturday, and Sunday.
