Golf:
Mike Legg of Prince George is tied with Andrew Pinette of Surrey for the lead after two rounds of the 54-hole BC Senior Men’s Golf Championship in Williams Lake.
Both are at 1-under-141 after Legg fired a 69 to go with an opening-day 72.
Scott Humphreys of Kelowna is just a stroke behind at even par 142.
Dave Lauzon of 150 Mile House tops the 10 Cariboo golfers in the field as he is tied for 7th at 4-over-146 (rounds of 77 and 69) which is five shots off the pace.
Will Gilbert of PG is tied for 38th at 10-over-152 (rounds of 79 and 73).
Dana Gorbahn of Smithers is tied for 73rd at 16-over-158 following back-to-back rounds of 79.
A total of 154 golfers are still competing with the final round going today (Thursday).

Soccer: FIFA Women’s World Cup
USA 1 Netherlands 1 (Tie)
Both the Americans and the Netherlands have a win and a draw after two games in Group E.
Seventh-ranked Canada, coming off of Wednesday’s 2-1 victory over the Republic of Ireland, plays its final round-robin game in Group B Monday (3 AM PT) against #10 Australia. Nigeria beat Australia today (Thursday) 3-2.
The Canadian team has a win and a tie after two games in the 32-team tournament.

Infielder Jared Young of P.G. is back this week with the Triple-A Iowa Cubs after a brief stint with the Chicago Cubs.
The 28-year-old Young batted .171 (6-for-35) in 13 big-league games for Chicago this season with one homer and five RBIs.

Softball:
The Softball BC Provincial Championships for Boys Under-13 to U-20 will be held Friday to Sunday at the Carrie Jane Grey Park fields.
There are 16 teams in total that are entered to compete (six each in U-13 and U-15 and four in U-17-20)
PG Football:
The Prince George Kodiaks junior football team is gearing up to begin its 10-game BCFC regular season schedule.
The Kodiaks open Saturday night at 7:00 when they host the defending Canadian Bowl champions, the Okanagan Sun at Masich Place Stadium.
CFL:
The (5-1) BC Lions visit the (0-7) Edmonton Elks Saturday (4:00 PT).
The Lions lead the West while the Elks have lost a record 20 consecutive home games, dating back to 2019.
Week 8 of the CFL season begins Friday with (2-4) Hamilton at (3-3) Ottawa (4:30 PT).
