Construction to resume on 3rd Avenue water main replacement

The City of Prince George will recommence water main replacement work at 3rd Avenue on August 8th.

Road closures will be in place between Vancouver Street and Victoria Street, and then for half a block between Victoria Street and Brunswick Street.

The work is part of the $2-million Watermain Replacement Program.

The 60-year-old asset replacement on 3rd Avenue was prioritized after the 2016 and 2019 water main breaks.

3rd Avenue between Edmonton Street and Vancouver Street was completed last year, and the upcoming work is the next phase of the multi-year project.

The closure is expected to be in place for two months.

Throughout construction, pedestrians will still be able to access the area, but they are urged to exercise caution in and around the work zone.

Scheduled full-day water outages are also expected during two Sundays, August 20th and 27th.
