The Town of Smithers has it’s help wanted sign up.
Mayor, Taylor Bachrach says it will be hard to replace Deborah Sargent who was the Chief Administrative Officer.
“Deborah has been fantastic to work with, she’s been in that position for nine years, I understand she is looking for a new challenge and looking to advance in her career and we’re thrilled for her in that regard.”
Town Council will search for her replacement.
Sargent will be in office until September 11th and will then become City Manager in Campbell River.
Sargent’s list of accomplishments with the town include expansion of the airport runway and the construction of a second ice arena.
