Junior Football:

The Prince George Kodiaks junior football team is 0-2 after Saturday’s 49-10 loss to the (3-0) Westshore Rebels at Masich Place Stadium.

The Kodiaks are back in action Saturday night at 7:00 when they host the (0-2) Kamloops Broncos.

CFL: (Final game in Week 10)

Toronto  44  Ottawa  31

The (7-1) Argos have the best record in the league while the (3-6) RedBlacks are last in the East Division.

The B.C. Lions are 7-2 and tied with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the top spot in the West Division.

The Lions, coming off Saturday’s 37-9 convincing victory over Calgary, play their next game on Sunday (4 PM PT) against the (4-5) Roughriders in Saskatchewan.

Winnipeg will play at (3-6) Calgary Friday night (6:00 PT).

Week 11 of the CFL season begins Thursday (4:30 PT) with (0-9) Edmonton at (3-5) Hamilton.

Hockey:

Former Prince George Cougars forward Fischer O’Brien has found a new team to play for in his final season of junior hockey.

The 20-year-old O’Brien will be joining the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL.

 

Major League Baseball:

Toronto Blue Jays  11  Chicago Cubs  4

The (66-54) Jays hold down the third and final wildcard spot in the A.L., a game and a half ahead of the (63-54) Seattle Mariners.

Toronto will host the (65-54) Philadelphia Phillies Tuesday (4:07 PT) and Wednesday (4:07 PT).

Soccer:  FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand

(Semifinals)

Spain  vs  Sweden  (1 AM PT Tuesday)  in Auckland, New Zealand

Australia  vs  England  (3 AM PT Wednesday)  in Sydney, Australia

The winners play for gold Sunday (3 AM PT in Sydney) while the losers play for bronze Saturday (1 AM PT in Brisbane, Australia).
