Hockey:
The Prince George Cougars have traded 18-year-old forward Caden Brown of P.G. to the Everett Silvertips.
In return, the Cougars acquired 19-year-old forward Oren Shtrom, plus a pair of WHL Draft picks, a second-rounder next year and a fifth-round selection in 2026.
Shtrom, from Gilbert, AZ, had 11 points (two goals) in 24 games last season with the Silvertips and the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Brown notched 33 points (18 goals) in 66 games last season with the Cougars.

Major League Baseball:
Philadelphia Phillies 9 Toronto Blue Jays 4
The (67-55) Blue Jays start a 6-game road trip Friday (3:40 PM PT) in Cincinnati against the (63-59) Reds.
Toronto is holding down the third and final wildcard spot in the A.L., one game ahead of the (65-55) Seattle Mariners. The Mariners beat Kansas City 6-5 Wednesday and they will conclude a 4-game series with the Royals today (11:10 AM PT) in KC.

CFL:
Week 11 of the CFL season begins tonight (Thursday 4:30 PT) with (0-9) Edmonton at (3-5) Hamilton.
The (7-2) B.C. Lions play on Sunday (4 PM PT) against the (4-5) Roughriders in Saskatchewan.
The Lions are tied with the (7-2) Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the top spot in the West Division with each team halfway thru their 18-game regular season schedule.
Winnipeg will play at (3-6) Calgary Friday night (6:00 PT).

Junior Football:
The (0-2) Prince George Kodiaks junior football team hosts the (0-2) Kamloops Broncos at Masich Place Stadium.
The game begins Saturday night at 7:00.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup medal games will be played this weekend in Australia.
England will battle Spain in the Gold Medal Game Sunday (3 AM PT in Sydney) while
Australia will be up against Sweden in the Bronze Medal Game Saturday (1 AM PT in Brisbane, Australia).
