Hockey:

The Prince George Cougars have announced they will open their 2023 Training Camp in one week.

It will begin on Wednesday, August 30th with on-ice practices and scrimmages open to the public running from August 31st until Sunday, September 3rd at CN Centre.

The team’s Intrasquad Game will be played on September 3rd at 6 p.m.

 

BC Senior Games:

The competition begins today and runs through Saturday at the 2023 BC 55+ Games in Abbotsford.

Zone 9 (North Central) has 97 registered participants in the 28 different events.

Major League Baseball:

Toronto Blue Jays  6  Baltimore Orioles  3  (10 innings)

The (70-56) Jays visit the AL East-leading (77-48) Orioles again tonight (Wednesday) and Thursday (starting at 4:05 PM PT).

Toronto is a game behind the (71-55) Seattle Mariners for the third and final wild-card spot in the American League.

The Mariners have won eight straight.

Toronto is also just  1.5 games back of Houston as the (72-55) Astros hold the second wild-card berth.

UNBC Timberwolves:

The UNBC Timberwolves open their Canada West soccer season this week at Masich Place Stadium.

The UNBC women host Trinity Western Friday night at 5:30 and Fraser Valley Sunday afternoon at 1:30.

The UNBC men entertain UBC on Friday evening at 7:45 and Sunday morning at 11:00.

Junior Football:

The (1-2) Prince George Kodiaks junior football team plays its first road game of the season when they the (0-4) VI Raiders Saturday night at 5:30 in Nanaimo.

CFL:

The (8-2) Winnipeg Blue Bombers host the (6-3) Montreal Alouettes Thursday night (5:30 PT) to begin Week 12 of the CFL season.

The Blue Bombers are two points ahead of the second-place B.C. Lions in the West Division.

The (7-3) Lions host the (3-6) Hamilton Tiger-Cats Saturday at 4 PM.
