Lheidli T’enneh partner with Indigenous-owned medical supply company

The Lheidli T’enneh First Nation has entered into a new partnership with MSS Medical, Surgical, and Safety Supplies, an Indigenous-owned medical supply company.

The partnership is aimed at economic reconciliation and social benefits.

“Our company is a vertically integrated healthcare company with a class four medical device licence, manufacturers licence and a drug establishment licence,” MSS President and CEO James Hiebert explained.

“MSS believes that when it does well, so should the communities in the regions where we do business.”

MSS is committed to share part of their profits from supplies sold in Northern BC with the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation.

Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dolleen Logan said the company approached them about the partnership months ago.

“It was the first time an Indigenous-owned company had contacted us to support such a unique model of Indigenous entrepreneurship and social value and benefit,” Logan said.

“This partnership reflects our traditional model of Indigenous entrepreneurship, economic development, and trade where everyone benefits and not just one party or another.”

This morning (Tuesday), Hiebert presented Logan with a social benefit cheque of $15,000, the first payment in the new partnership.
