The UNBC women’s soccer team is 0-4 and will play again on the road Friday night at Manitoba and Saturday night at Winnipeg.

PG Cougars:
The Prince George Cougars split their first two pre-season games, both of which were played in Port Coquitlam.
The Cougars lost 8-4 to the Vancouver Giants Friday and then rebounded for a 5-0 win over the Victoria Royals Saturday.

PG Spruce Kings:
The Prince George Spruce Kings went 1-1 in a pair of exhibition games on the road.
The Spruce Kings lost 2-1 to the Chilliwack Chiefs on Friday and followed that up with a 4-1 victory over the Langley Rivermen on Saturday.
They have three more pre-season games this week, all in Trail: Thursday (4 PM) against Cranbrook, Friday (7:30 PM) against Trail and Saturday (2 PM) against Powell River.

The Prince George Kodiaks took it on the chin in the BC Football Conference with a 62-0 loss to the Langley Rams (Saturday) in Langley.

CFL: (Week 14)
The (8-4) B.C. Lions are four points behind the (10-3) Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the battle for top spot in the West Division.
While the Lions had the bye on the weekend, the Blue Bombers blitzed the Saskatchewan Roughriders 51-6 on Saturday.
B.C. will host the (3-9) Ottawa RedBlacks on Saturday (4 PM).
Ottawa has lost six straight.
The (10-1) Toronto Argonauts have the best record in the CFL.

Major League Baseball:
Toronto Blue Jays 5 Kansas City Royals 2
The (80-63) Jays swept the 3-game series from the (44-100) Royals and have now won six of their last seven.
Toronto holds down the 2nd of three wild-card spots in the A.L. a game ahead of (79-64) Seattle Mariners and 1 1/2 in front of the (78-64) Texas Rangers.
The Jays, with 19 games left, host Texas in a four-game series starting tonight (Monday 4:07 PT).

Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets (6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3) on Sunday to capture the men’s US Open for his historic 24th major championship.
He is now tied with Margaret Court for the most Grand Slam singles titles in tennis history.
On Saturday, 19-year-old American Coco Gauff won her first Major, winning the women’s U.S. Open title (2-6, 6-3, 6-2) over Aryna Sabalenka.
