Danny Bell will be the 10th Artist-in-Residence for Prince George’s Community Arts Council.
The artist-in-residence program was opened to include a more diverse range of artists this year.
Bell will be the first musician appointed to the program.
“I don’t really know what to say, I’m really honoured to be chosen to do this work, and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to experiment and just to see what comes of it,” Bell said.
Bell added he will be locking himself in a cabin near Nukko Lake to see what comes of it.
“I’m going be collaborating with some friends throughout the process, I really don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m really excited to work on it.”
Bell will also be putting on a local music series as part of the Community Arts Council’s performing arts series.
The Community Arts Council’s Artist-in-Residence program is intended to accommodate artists for a period of one year for the development and production of ongoing or new bodies of work.
