City Council meets to discuss last years snow clearing efforts

Prince George city council meets today for a committee as a whole meeting.

Councillors will discuss recommendations made by a company that conducted a review of PG’s ice clearing and fleet operations.

The “Mercury report” saw 46 recommendations made in July of 2014, which were then turned into 26 action items last September.

Councillors will be talking about all these recommendations and just how well they were carried out during this winter.

While they will also figure out costs, including how to outfit all snow vehicles with a GPS, and how to keep communication lines open with the public.

The meeting gets underway at 6pm in the council chambers.
