WHL:

Tri-City Americans  6  Prince George Cougars  4 

Terik Parascak, Hudson Thornton, Oren Shtrom, and Viliam Kmec scored for the Cougars in the loss.

The Cougars (1-1-0-0) will be in Victoria next weekend for a double-header with the Royals.

BCHL:

Salmon Arm Silverbacks  4  Prince George Spruce Kings  1

Skogen Schrott scored the lone goal for the Spruce Kings.

The Spruce Kings will return home to the Kopar Memorial Arena next weekend for games against the Chilliwack Chiefs (Sept. 29) and the Merritt Centennials (Sept. 30).

Canadian Junior Football League:

Valley Huskers  34  Prince George Kodiaks  12

The Kodiaks (2-5) will play one more game at home on Saturday against the Okanagan Sun. (5-1)

The Blue Jays (86-69) still hold onto the second wildcard spot in the American League.

They’re one game ahead of the Houston Astros (85-70).

Prince George’s Jared Young did not see any action for the Cubs in the win.

The Cubs (81-74) are holding onto the final National League wildcard spot in a tight race.

The Cubs area half game behind the Arizona Diamondbacks (81-73), and a game ahead of the Miami Marlins (80-75).

BC Emergency Health Services transported the driver and passenger of the vehicle to a nearby hospital, where the driver unfortunately succumbed to their injuries; the passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
