Prince George firefighters had a busy weekend to say the least, responding to a pair of calls.
Smoker’s material is to blame for a structure fire that caused $15,000 in damage on Edmonton Street.
Prince George firefighters responded to the call at about 4pm on Saturday where three halls were called out.
Once on scene, crews noted the blaze started as a grass fire at the base of a hill on the back of the property then quickly spread onto the residence.
The damage consisted of an outbuilding and several sections of fence. Crews determined the outbuilding was a shed that was fully involved upon arrival.
Firefighters contained the blaze, stopping any damage to nearby homes.
The second incident occurred just before 1am on Sunday where crews were alerted to Commercial fire alarms at 1444 20th Avenue.
Firefighters found light smoke on the ground floor and heavy smoke from the basement.
The fire was later extinguished in the basement while also assisting with evacuation of the facility.
The cause is undetermined as $10,000 in damage is being estimated.
In both files, no injuries were reported.
