Major League Baseball:
New York Yankees 6 Toronto Blue Jays 0
The (87-71) Blue Jays, with four games remaining, host the (81-77) Yankees again tonight (Thursday at 4:07 PT) as New York goes for a 3-game sweep.
Toronto will conclude the regular season with three home games Friday (4:07 PM PT), Saturday (12:07 PM PT) and Sunday (12:07 PT) against the (97-62) Tampa Bay Rays.
The Blue Jays sit in the second wild-card spot in the American League, half a game ahead of the (87-72) Houston Astros and 2 in front of the (85-73) Seattle Mariners.
The Astros beat the Mariners 8-3 Wednesday night.
Seattle will host the AL West leading (89-69) Texas Rangers tonight (6:40 Thursday).

The Chicago Cubs lost 6-5 to the Atlanta Braves.
The (82-76) Cubs are tied with the (82-76) Miami Marlins for the third and final wildcard spot in the National League.
Jared Young of Prince George has not played for the Cubs in their last four games.
The 28-year-old Young has a .205 batting average (with a pair of homers and eight RBIs) in 15 Major League games this year with Chicago.
WHL:
The (1-1) PG Cougars hit the road for the first time this regular season as they visit the (0-2) Victoria Royals on Friday and Saturday.
The Cougars went 8-0-0-1 in nine meetings last season against the Royals, including 4-0 in Victoria.
The WHL announced today Victoria Royals forward Alex Edwards has been suspended 25 games.

The Cats will have both goalie Ty Young and forward Riley Heidt in their lineup after both were returned this week from NHL camps.
They are still waiting for the return of Koehn Ziemmer who has been with the LA Kings.

The (0-1) Prince George Spruce Kings have a pair of home games this weekend.
The Spruce Kings host the (1-1) Chilliwack Chiefs on Friday night at 7:00 and the (1-1) Merritt Centennials on Saturday with a special start time of 3:00 PM.
Lheidli T’enneh is partnering with the Spruce Kings and Four Rivers Coop to host the home opener.
The game is dedicated to the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (which is Saturday).

The UNBC Timberwolves will be on the road in Canada West soccer this weekend.

Week 4 of the NFL season kicks off tonight (Thursday at 5:15 PT) with the Detroit Lions at the Green Bay Packers.

The (10-4) B.C. Lions host the (6-8) Saskatchewan Roughriders Friday night at 7:30.
The Lions are tied with the (10-4) Winnipeg Blue Bombers for the top spot in the CFL West Division with each team having four games left prior to playoffs.
The Blue Bombers entertain the (12-1) Toronto Argonauts Friday night at 5:00 (PT).
B.C. will also host Winnipeg on Friday, Oct 6th, visit Hamilton on Oct 13th and entertain Calgary to conclude its regular season on Oct 20th.

The (2-5) Prince George Kodiaks host the (5-1) Okanagan Sun Saturday night at 7:00 at Masich Place Stadium in their final BCFC home game of the year.
