Canadian Artists for Reconciliation and Education (C.A.R.E.) will be hosting a Share Circle at the Knox Performance Centre this Sunday, featuring Keilani Rose.
“It is a gathering for discussions so that we can really explore what active reconciliation and active allyship needs to be and can become as we’re all on this journey of healing together,” Rose explained.
“The circle itself is based in Indigenous values of relations and respect, and communications. It’s really just making space to hold those values up as we sit in relationship with each other.”
As the guest speaker, Rose said she’ll be speaking on her experiences as an artist, and her journey with her Indigeneity.
“The overall goal is to really create and encourage the truth aspect, which is the first part of reconciliation, for folks to be able to listen, for us to be able to absorb what it means and what it feels like to sit with those truths, and to explore how we then alchemize all of that truth into actionable ally ship,” she explained.
The event will start at 2:00 p.m., and will also be available by Zoom.
