The Drum Run Adventure Tour is making its way along the Highway of Tears, raising money for the BC Children’s Hospital.

Lyle Povah is on the second leg of a 1,500-kilometer journey, in which he runs from town to town in BC, promoting health and well-being through combining indoor community drum circle workshops with outdoor distance running events.

“The Drum Run Adventure Tour combines two passions of mine, drumming is one, and I’ve been a musician for over 50 years in various ways all over the world,” Povah said.

“I have a great passion as well for marathon and ultra-marathon running, so hence, drum run.”

This is the first time out for the Drum Run Adventure Tour, but Povah said they’re considering a “2.0”.

“People are asking for that, and we’re connecting with incredible people on this journey,” he said.

“People that as well have been affected or have served in some way by BC Children’s Hospital.”

Leg 1 took Povah from Victoria to Campbell River, while Leg 2 is bringing him from Prince Rupert to Prince George.

Legs 3 and 4 will take place in the Okanagan and the Lower Mainland.

As of Sunday morning, $5,353 has been raised for the BC Children’s Hospital.
