Cougars Parascak and Laing named to NHL Central Scouting players to watch list

The accolades continue to roll in for Prince George Cougars star rookie Terik Parascak.

Today (Wednesday), the 17-year-old forward was rated as a “B” skater in the preliminary draft rankings list unveiled by NHL Central Scouting.

Parascak has taken the WHL by storm sitting third in league scoring with 25 points behind teammates Ondrej Becher and Zac Funk.

He also leads the WHL in goals with 15.

In addition, some northern flavour made the list.

Chetwynd’s Cayden Lindstrom of the Medicine Hat Tigers was rated as an “A” skater. Lindstrom has 15 points in 12 games – this includes 10 goals.

Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Miguel Marques of PG received a “C” grade. Marques is off to a point-per-game pace with the Canes tallying 13 points in as many contests.

Lastly, Cougars rookie forward Hunter Laing has been placed on the “Watch List”

The 6’6 rookie from Kelowna has seven points in 12 games for the Cats.

The ‘A’ category indicates players projected to be first-round picks..

The ‘B’ rating indicates players projected to be second- or third-round draft choices, and the ‘C’ grade indicates players projected to be fourth- or fifth-round selections. ‘

The ‘W’ rating, which is new this year, indicates players projected to be sixth- or seventh-round projections.
