UPDATE: Motor vehicle incident on Northwood Pulp Mill Road claims a life

Police officers in Prince George have confirmed this morning’s (Friday) motor vehicle incident on the 4300 block of Northwood Pulpmill Road has claimed a life.

“It is with regret we can confirm that this morning’s incident resulted in the death of one person, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased in their time of mourning,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Officers and emergency crews are clearing the area.

The B.C. Coroners Service has taken the conduct of the investigation.

There will be no further updates from the detachment.

The Prince George RCMP are responding to a motor vehicle incident where a vehicle went down an embankment.

It happened at approximately 5:30 this morning (Friday), along the 4300 block of Northwood Pulpmill Road.

“Police officers are still at the location with other emergency services. Northwood Pulpmill Road has been closed to traffic and will remain closed for the majority of the morning as emergency crews continue their work. A detour through Shelley is available,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Updates will be provided as they become available. This incident remains under investigation.
