The Kersley Volunteer Fire Department were called out to a mobile home fire.
The fire occurred at around 4:30 pm Friday at the Durrell Road trailer park, where crews found a mobile home in flames.
Fire Chief Eric Smith says the fire got to a point where support was needed.
“We responded with one engine, one tender with five personnel, I was delayed with our squad as I was in town.”
“On first arrival, my crew noticed heavy involvement on the delta side, and some involvement off the back charlie corner. We then called Quesnel for tender support and manpower.”
Smith added that Quesnel arrived with an engine and tender, and 6 personnel.
Once he showed up, Smith says Quesnel went to the side for the interior, while his crew worked on the exterior to extinguish the visible flame on the roof.
He says they were on scene until around 8:30, and there were no injuries caused by the fire.
Smith says the trailer is a complete loss, due to smoke, fire, and water damage.
He noted that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
