WHL:

For the second straight week, Prince George Cougars rookie Josh Ravensbergen is the WHL Goalie of the Week.

Ravensbergen, who turns 17 this month, made 38 saves in a 5-0 victory over the Prince Albert Raiders for his 3rd shutout in just his 5th career WHL start.

The (12-5) WHL leading Cougars host the (6-7-0-2) Red Deer Rebels Friday night at 7:00.

The Rebels visit Victoria tonight (Tuesday) and Vancouver on Wednesday before heading to PG.

The (8-7-0-1) Victoria Royals have fired head coach Dan Price and replaced him with former Winnipeg Ice head coach James Patrick.

Quinn Hughes had a goal and three assists to give him 20 points in 12 games.

Thatcher Demko stopped 40 shots for the (9-2-1) Canucks who are an NHL-best plus 30 in goal differential having scored 54 while allowing just 24 in 12 games.

The Canucks start a 3-game Eastern Canada road trip Thursday (4:00 PT) in Ottawa.

Vancouver also plays at Toronto on Saturday and at Montreal on Sunday.

The (3-7-3) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (9-4-2) West Kelowna Warriors on Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

The Spruce Kings are 7th out of 8 teams in the Interior Division while the Warriors are 3rd.

MLB:

First baseman Jared Young of Prince George has a new MLB team.

The St. Louis Cardinals have claimed the 28-year-old Young from the Chicago Cubs.

He batted .186  with two homers and eight RBIs in 16 games with Chicago this year.

Both the Chargers and the Jets are 4-4.

Canada West basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves get the long weekend off in Canada West basketball.

The Timberwolves return to action when they host MacEwan on Nov. 17th and 18th.

The UNBC men are 1-1 while the women are 0-2.

MacEwan is 0-2 in both divisions.

The (3-4) Toronto Raptors visit the (6-1) Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night (5:30 PT) on the third stop of a 4-game road trip that concludes Saturday in Boston.
