Prince George to see snow before warm weekend

Updated 12:40 p.m., November 12th:

Environment Canada has updated their seven-day forecast, and five to ten centimetres of snow is expected in the Northern Capital tomorrow.

Original Story:

Snow is in the forecast for Prince George for a few days this week.

According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Nan Lu, Pacific frontal systems are pushing eastward across the province, bringing an active fall weather pattern.

“It’s basically one system after the next, each day with snow is a system moving through. They’re moving through relatively fast so they’re not bringing significant snow this week,” she explained.

“Monday looks to be the more steady snow, we may be expecting up to five centimetres for Prince George, and then Tuesday it looks like some light flurries.”

Lu said Wednesday will be relatively dry, before some possible periods of snow overnight bringing up to five centimetres again.

“Thursday, Friday, Saturday there is a slight warming of the temperatures, so we have daytime highs ranging from three to five degrees,” she added.

She said the snow expected to fall this week will most likely melt during the warm weekend
