WHL:

Prince George Cougars  5  Vancouver Giants  0

Koehn Ziemmer and Riley Heidt notched two goals and two assists each while Ty Young got the shutout with 32 saves before 2,324 fans at CN Centre.

The (14-5) Cougars host the (7-11-1) Giants again tonight (Wednesday) and the two teams will also meet Friday in Langley.

Prince George also plays Saturday in Kelowna, giving them four games in five days.

The Cougars, who are ranked 2nd in the CHL, lead the Western Conference standings by three points.

BCHL: 

The (4-8-3) Prince George Spruce Kings conclude a 3-game homestand tonight when they entertain the (7-6-0-1) Coquitlam Express.

The Spruce Kings are last in the 8-team Interior Division while the Express sit 5th out of 9 in the Coastal Division.

BC Elite Hockey League:

The (9-2-1) U18 Cariboo Cougars play this weekend at the BC Elite Hockey League Showcase in Abbotsford.

Cariboo will face the (4-8) Vancouver North West Hawks on Saturday (11:15 AM) and the last place (1-11) Vancouver Island Royals on Sunday (8:30 AM).

The U18 Cougars are in third place in the 9-team division.

Canada West basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves host the MacEwan Griffins in Canada West basketball this weekend.

Games will be played Friday night (6:00 for the women, 8:00 for the men) and Saturday night (5:00 and 7:00).

The UNBC men are 1-1 while the women are 0-2.

MacEwan is 0-4 in both divisions.
