Operation Red Nose gearing up for holiday season in Prince George

With the holiday season slowly creeping up, Operation Red Nose is gearing up for a busy season in Prince George.

The service will start operating next weekend (November 24th and 25th) and will run each weekend until December 16th, as well as on New Years Eve.

Brenda Peacock, Chair of the Sponsorship Committee for Operation Red Nose, said they’ll need a minimum of 200 volunteers this year.

“[They money] goes to youth and amateur sport in Prince George,” she explained.

“For the volunteers that come out for charity groups, like we had 4H out last year, based on 25 man nights, they can earn money for their particular club as well.”

Last year, the service provided 44 rides during the first week of the season.

More information on volunteering and using the service can be found on the Operation Red Nose Prince George website.
