WHL:

Prince George Cougar  5  Kelowna Rockets  4

The Cougars erased a 4-1 deficit off the backs of Super Rookie Terik Parascak and Koehn Ziemmer, who each scored a pair.

Zac Funk scored a goal as well.

The Cougars (16-6-0-0) sit alone atop the WHL standings.

The Prince George Cougars will be back in action Friday at the CN Centre when the Lethbridge Hurricanes come to town.

Merritt Centennials  4  Prince George Spruce Kings  3

The Spruce Kings tried to make a comeback of their own but fell short.

The Spruce Kings turned a 4-1 deficit into 4-3 during the third, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Linden Makow, Alexis Cournoyer and Owen Goodbrand scored in the loss.

The Spruce Kings (5-10-3-0) are at the bottom of the BCHL’s Interior Division standings.

The Spruce Kings will be at Kopar Memorial Arena for a pair of home games this weekend, starting with the Cranbrook Bucks on Friday.

Low temperature record falls for Prince George

Prince George recorded its coldest temperature for October 13th this morning (Monday) according to Environment Canada. "Prince George Airport registered a low temperature of minus 9.5, which broke the record of minus 7.0, set in 1993," said Environment Canada Meteorologist Gary Dickinson.

Ice making process to start at two RDFFG rinks

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George says the ice making process will start at a couple of rural rinks this week. At the start of this month, the Regional District announced ice-making would be indefinitely suspended at the Robson Valley Recreation Centre in McBride and the Canoe Valley Recreation Centre in Valemount.
