Mobile Home destroyed by fire in Quesnel area

The West Fraser Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire this (Wednesday) morning.

Fire Chief Lance Wilkins goes over a few of the details.

“We got a call first thing this morning, I think it was around 6-40, 6-30, somewhere in that neck of the woods, of a structure fire up on Kupferschmidt Road. I was the first one on scene because I live next door, and it was fully involved when I got here.”

Wilkins says it went up quickly.

” We basically started working on trying to contain it, making sure it didn’t spread, and knock it down, but it’s completely gone now.”

Wilkins says there were also a couple of sheds on the property and that one suffered extensive damage.

He says they had 7 members on scene.

The Quesnel Fire Department was called in to provide mutual aid in the form of a water tender, a fire truck and 6 members.

Wilkins says no one was hurt and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
