WHL:

Everett Silvertips  4  Prince George Cougars  3  (Tuesday)

The Silvertips never trailed and built up period leads of 2-1 and 3-2 to end the Cougars’ four-game win streak before 2,450 fans at CN Centre.

Zac Funk tallied twice on the power play for P.G. to give him 23 goals on the season, tied for the league lead.

The Cougars pulled starting goalie Ty Young early in the 2nd period after he allowed three goals on 14 shots.

He was replaced by Josh Ravensbergen, who blocked 16 of 17 as Prince George outshot Everett 39-31.

The (18-7) Cougars head to the U.S. for three road games this weekend.

They will visit Tri-City on Friday, Spokane on Saturday and Portland on Sunday.

On his 17th birthday, Josh Ravensbergen was named the first star with 28 saves before 2,178 fans at CN Centre.

The Prince George Spruce Kings have a home game tonight (Wednesday).

The (6-11-3) Spruce Kings entertain the (7-14-1) Langley Rivermen at 7:00.

The Spruce Kings are last in the 8-team Interior Division, two points behind Cranbrook with two games in hand.

The Rivermen are 7th out of nine in the Coastal Division.

The (12-3-1) U18 Cougars host the (12-2) Fraser Valley Thunderbirds Saturday night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 10:30 at Kin 1.

The U18 Cougars are in second place and the Thunderbirds are third in the 9-team BC Elite Hockey League.

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the UBC Okanagan Heat on Friday and Saturday in Kelowna in their final Canada West basketball league games until January.
