Early morning shooting on Johnson Street sends two to hospital

The Prince George RCMP is investigating a shooting that took place early this morning. (Thursday)

Mounties responded to a report of shots in the backyard of a residence on the 700-block of Johnson Street just after 1:00 this morning.

According to police, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds when they arrived at the location.

The two were taken to hospital, and are being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The two victims are known to police, and investigators believe this to be a targeted attack, with no increased risk to the public.

“Police officers are currently looking to obtain any video surveillance or dash camera footage from the area, or to speak with anyone who might have seen people ort vehicles traveling through the neighbourhood between 12:30 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

The file remains under investigation.
