Spruce Capital Feeds purchased by Four Rivers Co-op

No, the horse isn’t going anywhere.

Four Rivers Co-op has announced they have purchased Spruce Capital Feeds and will be taking over in early January under a new name; Co-op Capital Feeds.

Allan Bieganski, Co-op’s CEO, told MyPGNow “We believe it is a perfect fit as we grow our [agriculture] business and look at diversifying.”

Bieganski assured Prince George residents that the 50-year-old business will largely remain as is, including the staff members.

“All of the employees have accepted job offers we presented,” he said, “including long-time managing partners Greg and Velma… that was very important to us.”

“We aren’t going in making massive changes to a very profitable, well respected, well-run business,” Bieganski added.

The transaction is set to close on January 5th – Co-op Capital Feeds’ first official day will be on January 8th after a brief shutdown to count inventory and make final transfers.

Bieganski laughed when he was asked about the horse in the sky, saying “that has been the most popular question through social media and other interviews – yes, the horse is staying in the sky.”

“Many members and residents look for that horse in the sky, and quite frankly, so do I.”

“We are excited to improve and grow our presence in Prince George,” he said, adding to Co-op’s four gas bars, two cardlocks, and petroleum business.
