The North District RCMP confirmed the pedestrian involved in a motor vehicle collision on the Hart Highway near Kenworth Road has passed away.
Police say the incident occurred just after 5 pm last night (Wednesday) and the highway was closed for several hours while emergency crews were on scene.
The road has since re-opened to traffic.
Cpl. Madonna Saunderson spoke with MyPGNow.com.
“The investigators are working to determine what happened, however, we do not believe anything criminal is involved. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.”
The name of the deceased pedestrian will not be released and the cause of the accident is unknown.
