Red Nose readying for last big weekend of the season

The busiest weekend of the year is right around the corner for Red Nose volunteers.

“It looks like we are going to have 15 teams on Friday and Saturday night,” Ken Pendergast, Co-Chair of Operation Red Nose Prince George, told My PG Now. “The weather is cooperating reasonably well, we will probably end up with a bit of snow but our drivers are cognizant of that.”

In the previous three weekends, he said they have given out 271 rides, which is pretty much on par with the year prior.

Pendergast said they are always looking for more volunteers, especially on New Year’s Eve, which is historically Red Nose’s busiest night of the year.

He said people can sign up to volunteer here, all volunteers need to have a criminal record check completed before they can drive for Red Nose.
