Man sent to the hospital following an aggravated assault in PG

RCMP in Prince George are investigating a violent assault that occurred just after 4:30 this morning (Monday) on Norwood Street.

According to police, Mounties responded to a call from an unrelated residence several blocks
from the crime scene, where the victim was located suffering from multiple significant stab wounds.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

“With the help of a Police Dog Services team, police officers were able to locate the scene of the assault at a unit on the 2100 block of Norwood Street. Multiple persons were located inside the unit and one person was arrested on an unrelated, outstanding arrest warrant. Investigators are asking if anyone in the area saw any suspicious activity before police received the 9-1-1 call at 4:30 a.m., that they call the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line (250-561-3300) to speak with police,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Investigators will remain at the location for most of the day while the investigation continues.
