A Cariboo Cougars player is being recognized for his efforts in the community.
Carter Hauk is the recipient of the U17 AAA League’s Humanitarian Award for the first half of the 2023-24 season.
Aside from playing for Cariboo, Carter is oftentimes on the ice wearing the stripes as an official for minor hockey in his area.
The third-year official also gives back to the game as an on-ice helper with Prince George Minor Hockey Association’s (MHA) ‘Learn to Skate’ program.
He also spends his time helping out as a stick boy with the WHL’s Prince George Cougars.
Away from the rink, the 15-year-old stays busy helping out with his school’s athletics programs.
Hauk is involved as a volunteer volleyball scorekeeper at Prince George Secondary School.
