Cougars unveil Indigenous Night jerseys

The Prince George Cougars, in partnership with the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation and Four River Co-op will be hosting the second annual Indigenous Night on January 20th.

“Our nation has enjoyed an incredible relationship with the PG Cougars since 2021,” said Lheidli T’enneh Chief Dolleen Logan.

The Cougars will wear jerseys designed by Lheidli T’enneh artist Kym Gouchie when they take on the Portland Winterhawks.

 The jerseys will be available for auction from January 19th at 5:00 pm until Saturday January 28th at midnight.

Proceeds from the auction will go towards the Salvation Army in Prince George.

Drum and dance performances will take place throughout each intermission and the concourse.

One lucky fan will also go home with a big pay day, as there will be a guaranteed $20,000 jackpot.

Additionally, the Cougars have given a pledge of Respectful Acknowledgement to the Lheidli T’enneh.

Chief Dolleen Logan presented the Cougars with a plaque, which will be displayed in their office at the CN Centre.

“I am honoured on behalf of our players, coaches, staff and fans to make this pledge of Respectful Acknowledgement to Chief Logan and her nation,” said Cougars Director of Business Taylor Dakers.
