In a swap with the Regina Pats, the Prince George Cougars acquired 18-year-old power forward Jesse Gabrielle in return for 17-year-old forward Lane Zablocki. 4th round bantam picks were also exchanged in the deal.
The 6’0”, 214 pound Gabrielle was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 4th round (105th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. He notched 23 goals, 21 assists and 112 penalty last season with the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Pats.
In 117 WHL career regular season games, Gabrielle has tallied 35 goals, 35 assists and 187 penalty minutes.
Zablocki played last season in the AJHL with the
Sherwood Park Crusaders.
The Cougars training camp begins August 28th.
