The Prince George Cougars have lost back-to-back games for the second time this month.
The loss came at the hands of the 8th-place Spokane Chiefs by a 4-3 score.
The Cougars never had a lead in the game, they came into the third period trailing 3-2 and quickly found themselves down 4-2 after Shea Van Olm scored the eventual game-winner 1:33 in.
Hunter Laing scored the Cougars’ third goal four minutes later, but the comeback effort came out flat, Prince George was outshot 20-7 in the final period.

Terik Parascak and Riley Heidt scored the Cougars’ other two goals to tie the game 1-1 in the first and 2-2 in the second.
Berkly Catton, a top prospect in the upcoming NHL draft, scored Spokane’s first two goals in the first period, one just a minute into the contest.
Ty Young made 39 saves on 43 shots for the Cougars, Cooper Michaluk made 25 saves on 28 shots.
The Cougars’ powerplay went 0/4, they killed 1/2 powerplays they gave up.
The loss pushes Prince George’s record to 30-14-0-1, while Spokane improves to 17-21-4-0.
The Cougars have 61 points in the standings, two points behind the Everett Silvertips for first place in the west – Everett has played two more games.
Portland beat Tri-City 3-2 last night, they are now tied with the Cougars at 61 points, they have played two fewer games than PG.
Worth noting – if the Cougars win the BC Division (which they lead by 7 points), the worst they could finish is second place in the standings.
The American road trip continues tonight, the Cougars play the 9th place Tri-City Americans at 6:00, then play Wenatchee on Sunday afternoon.
