PG Mounties seize weapons and drugs following multi-day operation on Dominion Street

The Prince George RCMP’s Downtown Safety Unit and Problem Oriented Policing Team made three arrests after yielding numerous weapons, drugs and evidence of drug trafficking.

A multi-day project targeted a B.C. Housing complex on the 600-block of Dominion Street, where multiple rooms were identified in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant.

Once inside the rooms, investigators located and seized large quantities of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine; over $1000 in cash; drug trafficking paraphernalia and multiple weapons.

“This project targeted several units at the supportive housing complex in response to complaints from the public. We know from experience that drug trafficking regularly elicits higher levels of violence around those who chose to engage in the activity. By disrupting the illicit drug trade in that area, we are helping to keep those who live and work in the neighbourhood safe,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Those arrested were later released pending the full results of the investigation, which remains ongoing.
