PG shatters 89-year-old daily temperature record after reaching 13 degrees

It feels a lot like 1935 in Prince George, due to the spring-like weather we continue to enjoy.

Today (Wednesday), our city broke an 89-year-old daily temperature record for January 31st.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau spoke with MyPGNow.com.

“We recorded 13.2 degrees, breaking the previous daily maximum record of 11.7 degrees, which was set back in 1935. It’s a warm day and we are seeing many temperature records fall across the region.”

She added we could find ourselves in a similar situation tomorrow (Thursday).

“We are forecasting a daytime high of 11 degrees and the maximum daytime temperature for February 1st was 11.1 degrees set back in 1935 as well. So, we’ll get another chance to see if we can set a new record.”

From Saturday onward into the next week, temperatures will dip to seasonal and below seasonal
