Powerplay struggles sink Spruce Kings against Capitals

The Prince George Spruce Kings are still winless through four games of their five-game road trip as they fell 4-3 to the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The second period turned out to be the only period the 1,298 fans at the Cowichan Community Centre needed to watch, as all the scoring was done in the middle frame.

The Capitals jumped out to a 3-0 lead, courtesy of Dryden Kuramoto and Gavin Geisbrecht who scored two.

Skogen Schrott and JR Perdion brought the Spruce Kings back within one, but Brock Cummings  extended the Capitals lead once again.

Jared Langdon scored the final goal of the game on the powerplay to cement the 4-3 score.

The Spruce Kings went one for six on the powerplay.
