Another Prince George Spruce Kings will be on his way to play NCAA Division 1 hockey.
Owen Goodbrand has announced he has committed to Bentley University, located in Waltham, Massachusetts.
“I would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who has played a role in my life and helped me achieve this goal. My family, billet families, coaches, teammates and friends,” Goodbrand said.
“Lastly, I would not be at this stage in my journey without the help and support of the Spruce Kings organization. The coaches, management, and environment continuously make me look forward to improving each and every day. I am looking forward to the rest of the season and what the future holds!”
“Owen is a great person, teammate and player,” said Spruce Kings General Manager Mike Hawes.
“He plays the game hard and the right way every time he steps on the ice. This achievement is very well deserved.”
Goodbrand was acquired from the Cowichan Valley Capitals in January last season.
In 41 games with the Spruce Kings this season, Goodbrand has notched nine goals and 16 assists.
Goodbrand will join Spruce Kings alumni Colton Cameron and Nick Bochen at Bentley.
