Miracle Theatre’s “A Comedy of Tenors” opens tonight

Miracle Theatre’s production of “A Comedy of Tenors” is taking the stage for the first time tonight. (Wednesday)

“It’s a very, very funny, kind of crazy piece of comedy,” explained Miracle Theatre Director Ted Price.

“It’s about a guy who’s organizing one of the first mega-stadium concerts ever, and he’s got these three tenors and it turns out to be four, by funny circumstances. What happens is it’s set the afternoon of the big event, and they’re in the big, fancy hotel suite, and everything that can go wrong, does go wrong.”

This year, Miracle Theatre is raising funds for a Structural Protection Unit for the City of Prince George.

“What this does it actually sets up a defence in advance of the fire arriving and creates what sometimes is alluded to as a wall of water,” Price explained.

According to Price, there are plans in the works to get this equipment, but that is a few years away.

“We want the city to have wildfire equipment for this summer, because our fear is we’re one lightning strike away from perhaps turning into a Kelowna if our luck turns bad,” Price said.

The production of A Comedy of Tenors will run Tuesdays through Saturdays, with matinees on the weekend.
