101 local businesses and vendors set up shop in the Roll-a-dome today (Sunday) for the 10th annual small business fair.
“So we have a little collection of all local vendors that are home-makers, bakers,” said Bonnie Kerr, an organizer of the event.
“We have small businesses, services, few different things to check out.”
Kerr said the event is a favourite among local small businesses.
“They like to come back because we know we put the effort into making the marketing known, and people find out about us,” Kerr continued.
“So many people, especially right now with inflation and stuff, they want to come out and buy handmade stuff in support, instead of our big box stores.”
Aside from sales made today, Kerr said the businesses that participate usually see a boost after the event as well.
“We do hear from our vendors that they gain new followers, especially on social media or people reaching out to them after,” she said.
“Plus they also make connections with other makers, and different ones to do collaborations and basically we become friends and family, we’re always meeting at the fairs and working together on projects.”
Kerr added they also host seasonal events for the summer, fall, and holiday seasons.
