PG to see a mix of warm and cold during Easter Weekend

The weather forecast for the Easter Weekend in Prince George will start cool and then gradually warm up according to Environment Canada.

Daytime highs for tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday will be in the low-single digits accompanied by overnight temperatures dipping to -10.

However, Meteorologist Brian Proctor told MyPGNow.com it will be five to six degrees above seasonal once we move past Saturday.

“Saturday will see very little change in terms of the cloud cover but we are going to see temperatures start to recover on Saturday and by the time we get to Sunday, it will be sorted of mixed skies out there but temperatures will be 14 with overnight lows of about one or two degrees. For Easter Monday, we will see much of the same but with an overnight low of around minus two.”

“I think the important thing is better conditions as we move through the weekend with people travelling moving into the weekend you can expect a little cooler conditions with some lingering flurries in the higher terrain as we move into Friday. But in general, weather will be improving as we move through the weekend with people driving back home on Monday – it should be pretty good conditions.”

Proctor adds a ridge of high pressure will build into the area by Sunday and is expected to last well into next week, bringing back the double-digit highs.
