PG’s Jared Young sent to Triple-A by St. Louis Cardinals

Jared Young is beginning another pro baseball season in the minors.

The 28-year-old from Prince George outrighted to the Memphis Red Birds, the AAA affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Young was taken off the Cards 40-man roster following the addition of centre fielder Victor Scott.

The PG product posted a .353 OPS during spring training (on-base percentage plus slugging percentage)

After six years with the Chicago Cubs organization, Young was claimed by St. Louis in November of 2023.

In 22 career MLB games with Chicago, Young batted.210 with two home runs and eight RBI’s.

Last season, with the AAA Iowa Cubs, the 28-year-old blasted 21 home runs and 72 RBIs to go along with a .310 batting average.
