Prince George Cougars 4 Spokane Chiefs 2

Zac Funk, who notched a league-high 67 goals in the regular season, scored twice and added two assists.

The Cougars have won 12 straight and will go for a 4-game first-round sweep of the Chiefs tonight (6:30 Wed) in Spokane.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings are preparing for the playoffs.

After finishing last in the BCHL Interior Division with a record of 16-35-3, the Spruce Kings will battle the first place Penticton Vees.

The first two games will be played in Penticton on Friday and Saturday.

The series will shift to Prince George for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, April 10th.

The if needed games are set for April 12th in Penticton, April 14th in Prince George and April 16th in Penticton.

MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  2  Houston Astros  1

The (3-3) Jays visit the (1-5) Astros again tonight (Wednesday 5:10) in the rubber match of their 3-game series.

Curling:

Canada’s Team Brad Gushue from St. John’s, N.L., is 7-1 at the 2024 World Men’s Curling Championship in Switzerland.

Team Gushue outscored the Netherlands 7-4 and South Korea 7-4 today (Wednesday).

On Tuesday, Canada beat New Zealand 7-4 and the USA 8-2 on Tuesday.

Gushue will conclude the round robin against Norway (12:01 AM) and Sweden (10 AM) on Thursday and against Japan (5:00 AM) and Switzerland (10 AM) on Friday.

After the round-robin wraps up Friday, the third through sixth-ranked teams compete in playoff qualification games (3 vs. 6; 4 vs. 5), with the winners advancing to the semifinals. The semifinal winners play in the gold-medal game, and the losers play for the bronze.

NBA:

The (23-52) Raptors suffered their 14th consecutive loss.

They have just seven games left in their season.

Toronto will visit the (52-23) Minnesota Timberwolves tonight (5:00).
