A witness made an out-of-the-ordinary discovery on Monday, which led to the Prince George RCMP seizing a large quantity of hidden drugs.
According to police, the witness reported finding large black cases buried down a local trail near the 6800-block of Fairmont Crescent.
“When police officers searched the area further, they found a total of three cases buried in various location,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
“Investigators opened the cases and found approximately $5,000 in cash and over 400 grams of illicit drugs inside.”
The Prince George RCMP is reminding the public to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood.
“That might look different for every neighbourhood because they have lots of different demographics and activity levels in our neighbourhoods,” Cooper said.
“It may seem innocuous to you, or it might not seem like anything too big, but you never know what it could lead to.”
