Asay, played 15 years on the national women’s baseball team before her passing at the age of 33 will be inducted tomorrow night (Saturday) from the Ramada.

Asay played a key role for her country in winning five medals, two silver and, three bronze in five World Cups.

In addition, she also played a prominent role in Canada’s silver medal finish at the 2015 Pan-Am Games in Toronto, which marked the first time women’s baseball was part of a major multi-sport event.

Asay also shined while playing NCAA softball and hockey at Brown University while also suiting up on the ice for the UBC Thunderbirds where she was an academic all-star.

Next month (May 14th), Asay will be inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in Vancouver.

Tandy on the other hand, is an Olympian and a world-class athlete who represented her country with pride on the biggest stage.

She was a member of Biathlon BC and later became a big part of the Canadian World Cup biathlon teams from 2008 to 2019.

She also competed internationally in several IBU World Championships from 2008 to 2017.
