The Penticton Vees took game one of their best of 7 series with the Prince George Spruce Kings.
Penticton scored once in the first period and twice in the second to earn the win, outshooting the Spruce Kings 27-20.
Game 2 is tonight at 7:00, again in Penticton.
WHL
There are two first round playoff series still underway.
The Wenatchee Wild beat the Kelowna Rockets in overtime at home last night 5-4 to extend their season – Kelowna leads that series 3-2.
The Wild won despite the Rockets going 4/11 on the powerplay and scoring twice late to send the game to OT.
The Everett Silvertips are also up 3-1 on the Vancouver Giants.
The next games in each of those series will be played tomorrow.
NHL
